Tey has apprenticed with Native American teachers for over thirty years, learning to walk in both the “normal” world and in the mystical realms. She works closely with the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) combining spirituality and science and leads workshops in psychological shamanism, which is the blending of psychological and shamanistic teachings specifically designed for Western culture. Program Goals: To assist licensed therapists to fully explore and embrace their authentic selves so that they can help clients achieve their fullest potential.

Increase therapists understanding and ability to serve specific populations that are at higher risk for suicide and depression. Specifically focused on the GLBTQQIAP & P* population, cross-cultural and those experiencing spiritual crises.

Create a safe learning environment and relevant educational materials to encourage clinicians to explore their own personal issues related to gender, sexuality, spirituality, and culture. Also address related biases, and counter transference issues that could affect clients.

Give clinicians tools to assess and treat clients during spiritual crisis and be able to distinguish between psychotic episodes and spiritual crises.

As clinicians become more knowledgeable and more comfortable within themselves they help clients by decreasing the risk of suicide and depression within these populations to allow fuller expression of the full spectrum of our individuality.
